administrative professionals day - recognizing our team with tina mayes

Behind every service and program area is an administrative professional who works diligently to ensure teams operate smoothly and efficiently. On the Emergency Response Services (ERS) team in Shoal Lake, one of those people is Tina Maynes.

Passionate about her position and helping others, Maynes says that she loves the fast-paced nature of her job and that no two days are the same.

“A typical day is never dull,” she said with a laugh. “Tasks come up and then they go ahead of other things. I am always looking at tasks and making sure I am prioritizing the most pressing things or projects.”

Maynes works on a team with two other people in administrative roles who all support one another.

“We keep busy by supporting various tasks taking place in the West Zone of ERS, which keeps work interesting and challenging. I mainly focus on recruitment, leave of absences and helping organize public relation events for paramedics to attend such as career fairs and speaking opportunities at high schools.”

Prior to her role in ERS, Maynes supported health care in different positions over the past 20 years.

“I like working in health care because I get satisfaction from my job knowing I helped someone. Even in more of a behind-the-scenes role, I know I am helping someone by answering a simple question or when someone gives me a task. That makes me happy,” she said.

“It’s nice to help people on all kinds of levels and take pride in doing a good job. There are a lot of great people working in ERS and I am honoured to work alongside them.”

This week, we recognize Administrative Professionals for the important contributions they make to the health system every day, whether in direct care, support or corporate environments.
