Manchester United are finally back in action when they travel to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night. By the time Ruben Amorim's side kick-off at The City Ground it will have been 16 days and one hour since their last game, a 3-0 win against Leicester City, started.
The March international break put a pause to domestic football for two weeks, and as United are out of the FA Cup, they have had to wait a little longer to return. Now, it does feel like a matter of time before United are back, however, as they prepare to face Forest.
Back-to-back wins before the break has lifted the mood and momentum around Old Trafford and Amorim's side are expected to go into the clash with Forest full of confidence. They came from behind to thrash Real Sociedad in the Europa League, before beating Leicester.
Here is the latest news from United...
Delap update
Liam Delap is open to joining any Premier League side that make a move for his services in the coming months, providing Manchester United a boost in their pursuit of the Ipswich Town forward.
That's according to TBR Football, which reports that United are keen on bringing more firepower to their ranks this summer. It is claimed that Delap is one of the names at the top of their summer shopping list. Having joined Ipswich from Manchester City for £15million last summer, Delap has scored 10 Premier League goals this season.
MEN says: It's clear that United need to add some extra firepower to their squad this summer, even if Rasmus Hojlund's form has started to improve. They haven't scored enough this season - just 37 in 29 matches - and signing a new striker might be the solution.
Delap has been impressive since his move to Ipswich and it's no surprise that United are looking at him. He is no doubt not going to stay at Portman Road if the Tractor Boys are relegated and that is when United can pounce. For me, he would be an excellent addition.
Hjulmand transfer
Manchester United are eyeing up a move for Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand in the summer transfer window, according to a report from Stretty News.
The midfielder has a release clause of £67million but United believe they can drive his price down to around £50m. Having impressed under Ruben Amorim at Sporting, the Denmark international is emerging as a 'serious' target for United. He has played 38 times for the Portuguese side this season.
MEN says: If United sell Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro, midfield reinforcements are going to be a must. Manuel Ugarte has been improving in recent weeks and Bruno Fernandes has dropped into a deeper role, but Amorim could still do with dipping into the market for more midfielders.
Hjulmand, who has excelled for Sporting, would be an astute addition. There is no guarantee that he would be able to replicate that in the Premier League but it might be worth the risk.
