Candidate plans focus on gun rights, critical race theory

A familiar Republican face is jumping into the race for Congress in New Hampshire's 2nd District.Bob Burns is taking another shot in the Republican primary for New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District in 2022, bringing a business background and focus on gun rights to the campaign trail once again."The last time I ran for Congress, one of my big issues was talking about a national reciprocity law, where people can carry guns across state lines," Burns said. "Some sort of, maybe, federal licensing system."Burns said he will also be focusing on the fight against critical race theory, although he acknowledged that discussion remains ill-defined."Republicans and Democrats both have different opinions of what it is, and I think the true core of the problem is this racist whitewashing of history that we're doing in America's school systems," he said.On the impact of the pandemic, Burns said the scramble for personal protective equipment last year was exactly what he was warning voters about four years ago in regard to international trade."First thing, we need a level playing ground," Burns said. "So, the last time I ran for Congress, one of my big issues was the supply chain. Back in 2018, nobody was talking about the supply chain, especially in pharmaceuticals, where I work.
