BRUNSWICK, Maine — Two women are charged with drug trafficking and child endangerment after police served a search warrant at a Brunswick home Wednesday night.

Kim Wentworth, 37, of Perryman Drive, and Amanda Ames, 35, of Lewiston, face charges including two counts of Class A aggravated trafficking on a Schedule W drug and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Wentworth is also charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of a Schedule Z drug and misdemeanor falsifying physical evidence.

Ames is also charged with violation of conditions of release, a misdemeanor.

Brunswick police executed a search warrant at Wentworth's Perryman Drive home at about 10:15 p.m. and allegedly seized methamphetamine, Fentanyl, clonidine, buproprion (Wellbutrin), and tizanidine, as well as filled syringes, evidence of drug trafficking and cash, according to a release.

Charges were elevated because the alleged incident took place within a posted Drug Free Safe Zone, according to the release.

Both women were taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. Ames is being held without bail and Wentworth's bail was set at $4,000 cash.

Court dates were not immediately available.
