ADA, Okla. – An Oklahoma church bus minister facing charges of lewd molestation has committed suicide.

According to an affidavit obtained by KFOR, Ada police said Wayne Bean inappropriately touched multiple young girls while working as the bus minister for the Ada Baptist Temple.

Authorities started investigating Bean in May 2017 after an 11-year-old girl refused to get on the bus.

“She started crying, and the mother talked to her about why she didn’t want to get on the bus,” Detective Brian Engel told KXII. “She disclosed to her mother that an individual from the church that rides the bus had been inappropriately touching her.”

When the 11-year-old girl’s mother contacted another parent about the allegations, that parent learned her 7-year-old daughter said she was also inappropriately touched by Bean.

Investigators soon also found a 13-year-old girl had reported Bean had allegedly been inappropriately kissing her on the lips when she got on and off the bus.

Bean denied the allegations, KXII reports.

According to the affidavit, officials found pornographic videos on Bean’s computer that showed older men having sex with women who were portrayed to be very young.

Bean was arrested and charged with three counts of lewd molestation.

Later, on Thursday, police said he killed himself and they are still investigating the case.
