Applications are now being accepted for the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC). All young women in grades 9-12 who are interested in technology are invited to apply. Students with any level of experience are encouraged to apply, as NCWIT recognizes aspirations as well as accomplishments.

Recipients receive engraved awards, scholarship and internship opportunities, entry to a peer-network of technical women in the NCWIT AiC community, various prizes, and more. The North Dakota/South Dakota region award ceremony is planned for Feb. 19, 2019, at Dakota State University in Madison, S.D. NCWIT will also honor collegiate winners and educators at this ceremony.

Cynthia Hetherington, founder of the Hetherington Group, will be the keynote speaker at this ceremony. The Hetherington Group is a consulting, publishing and training firm that works in due diligence, corporate intelligence and cyber investigations by keeping pace with the latest security threats and assessments. With a specialization in the financial, pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries, Hetherington's investigations have recovered millions of dollars in high profile corruption cases, assisting on the investigations of the top two Ponzi cases in U.S. history.
