Bishkek, Jan. 17, 2018 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov met with Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller.
According to the information provided by the Kyrgyz Government’s press service, at the meeting the sides discussed the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, as well as measures to implement a joint action plan for the coming years.
Sapar Isakov emphasized that the World Bank is one of the main partners of Kyrgyzstan for development and expressed gratitude to the WB leadership for the assistance provided in solving the social and economic problems of the country.
The Prime Minister also stressed that Cyril Muller's visit to the country is another evidence of the high level of bilateral relations. He also said that the World Bank's participation is ensured practically in all spheres of the domestic economy, and therefore the government of the country intends to continue close joint work.
Sapar Isakov briefed about the government's plans to implement Digital CASA project and Taza Koom and 40 Steps to a New Era program.
At the same time, the Kyrgyz prime minister spoke about the plans of the Cabinet to launch the Smart City project in Bishkek and Osh cities,.
The prime minister once again stressed that the bulk of the digital transformation program of Taza Koom will be implemented with the involvement of foreign investments.
Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller said that at present the World Bank is at the final stage of preparing a comprehensive study of the Kyrgyz economy to identify the most vulnerable sectors in need of support from development partners.
Cyril Muller said that the World Bank's activities are aimed at achieving two main goals: poverty eradication and improvement of people's well-being.
He stressed that these goals are reflected in detail in the government program 40 Steps to a New Era program and expressed readiness to assist in its implementation.
"40 Steps to a New Era program is ambitious and aims to increase prosperity for all. Kyrgyzstan is the leading country in the region for digitalization, which is also reflected in your program," Cyril Muller said.
Following the meeting, the sides expressed readiness for further constructive cooperation in implementing joint projects in various sectors of the country's economy and building the potential of bilateral relations.
