US stocks end flat; Asian markets open higher

US equities closed flat Thursday as investors got ready for key employment data. Shares in Asia were mostly higher, except in South Korea, which is awaiting a court’s verdict on President Park Geun-hye’s impeachment late last year by the legislature.
