The Port Arthur Police Department announced Friday that its narcotics and guns unit recently executed a search warrant in the 8200 block of Sassine Avenue for the possible discovery of cocaine.

“Officers located suspected crack cocaine, alprazolam pills, carisoprodol pills, hydrocodone pills, oxycodone pills and promethazine in the residence,” a PAPD release stated. “More than $57,000 was seized.”

The resident, John Mczeal, was arrested Thursday for possession of a controlled substance and taken to the county jail, according to police.
