We've collected the hygiene ratings of some of the most popular Christmas Day destinations for dinner in 2017, so you can (hopefully) put your mind at rest.

What the ratings mean

The Celtic Manor

All the restaurants are serving food on Christmas Day at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport and they all have a hygiene rating of five .

The most recent inspections took place throughout 2016 and 2017.

The Vale Resort, Hensol, Vale of Glamorgan

The Vale Bar and Grill, which is where the resort is serving its festive lunch, was last inspected in July 2017.

And the resort in Hensol has a hygiene rating of four .

The Michelin-starred restaurant in Penarth has a hygiene rating of five .

This hotel in Llandelio was last inspected in May 2016 - where it was awarded a hygiene rating of five .

This restaurant tucked away overlooks the quieter Coppet Hall beach in Saundersfoot - so expect some wonderful views as you tuck into your turkey.

It was last inspected in March 2016 and achieved a hygiene rating of five .

The Cardiff restaurant on Chapel Street was last inspected in January 2017 - where they were given a five .

Park House

The restaurant on Park Place, Cardiff, was inspected this year in March.

And it was given a hygiene rating of three.

The Stuffed Dormouse

This restaurant in Caerleon is known for its exotic meats ( we tried the exotic meat roulette! ) but they're serving a traditional Christmas Day dinner this year.

They were recently given a zero hygiene rating but following some swift changes, the restaurant has since been reinspected and now has a hygiene rating of four .

After its recent inspection in September 2017, the St George hotel near Abergele was awarded a hygiene rating of five .

The Plough in the Whitchurch area of Cardiff scored a five .

Conway Road in Cardiff's Pontcanna is home to the New Conway.

This traditional pub scored a hygiene rating of three in October 2016.

This Brains-run Swansea venue might have some of the best views in the city.

The restaurant in Meridian Tower, Trawler Road was rated four when it was inspected in May 2017.

The hotel on Well Street in Ruthin picked up a hygiene rating of five .

It was last inspected in March 2017.

Found on Old Church Road in Whitchurch, Cardiff, the Fox and Hounds was awarded a hygiene rating of five when it was last inspected in December 2016.
